01Does the beacon need a SIM or airtime?
No. The beacon speaks to Trackr phones around it, not to a mobile tower. That is why there is no data plan, and why it still works in an underground car park or when a thief is running a GSM jammer.
02What happens if there are no Trackr users nearby?
Coverage is honest about this: the net is thin where there are few installs and dense where there are many. Today it is strongest across Lagos, and every new fitting in your area makes it stronger for you. A reported vehicle stays on the net. A match can come days later, when it passes a watcher.
03How long does fitting take?
Under an hour. A certified installer comes to you, conceals the beacon inside the vehicle and sets up your app before leaving. Nothing is visible on the dash.
04What is the ₦3,500 a month for?
Keeping the net running, servicing the beacon, and recovery support on call when a Flare goes out. It is not a data subscription, and you can cancel any time. The beacon simply stops being watched.
05How long does the battery last?
Months on the internal cell, with the app warning you well ahead of a replacement. Fleet installs can be wired to vehicle power on request.
06Can someone track me without my knowing?
Position history for a vehicle is visible to its owner and to the people the owner nominates, nobody else. Being a watcher is anonymous in both directions: you never learn whose car you helped find, and they never learn who saw it.
07What do I actually do when a Flare goes out?
Call the police first, then follow the live location in the app. The net keeps confirming the vehicle as it moves, so you and the officers work from where the car is now rather than a cold report.
08Do you cover vehicles outside Lagos?
We fit outside Lagos on request, and the app works anywhere, but be realistic about net density beyond our current coverage. Call us and we will tell you plainly how thin it is where you are.
